An empty custom box for a Matchbox Lesney Superfast 34 d Volkswagen Camper G Style Custom Box.
The Matchbox Lesney G Style Boxes were the first style of Superfast box. Earlier Superfast boxes were transitional and included a mix of regular wheels and superfast wheel models and labelling.
A box for this model is mentioned in the 1970 catalog but was never issued. This is a custom interpretation of what we think the box would have been, if it were issued. The main feature is that the 34d Silver Camper was not converted to Superfast wheels. The note in the catalog states ‘Non Superfast’ similar to the #40 Hay Trailer which did not have Superfast Wheels at the time.
This box is not a reproduction but customised box showing what might have been.
