An empty reproduction Matchbox Lesney 23 c1 Bluebird Dauphine Caravan Gold Empty D Style Repro Box.
This is a Matchbox Lesney D style reproduction box for the Bluebird Dauphine Caravan. Generally found as a metallic tan colour there are two rare variations. The first issue was a metallic green corresponding the paint of the earlier issue Berkeley Cavalier Caravan that was dropped from the range in 1960. The second is the last issue of the model and it has a maroon base plate. This caravan made way for the Trailer Caravan in 1965. This box is from an original from my collection and depicts a gold coloured model similar to the metallic tan.
