Description
Corgi Toys Gift Set 12b Grand Prix Racing Set empty Reproduction Box. This the second version of this set with the later issue Lotus Climax and Cooper Maserati models that featured the front wheel steering with the drivers actions.
The outer box features a window front displaying the cars inside the foam tray (not included). The upper left has the Porsche Carrera 6 featured in white and red highlight panels and a second one behind it in blue (a rare version of the model was made with blue highlight panels).
The models in this set would include:
- Corgi Toys 490 Volkswagen VW Racing Car Tow Truck with tools and winch (white colour body)
- Corgi Toys 330 Porsche Carrera 6
- Corgi Toys 159 Cooper Maserati (later steering model)
- Corgi Toys 158 Lotus Climax (later steering model)
- Corgi Toys Racing Car Trailer (Red) (no separate model number – later issue plastic towing loop)
- Accessories – witches hats / cones and hay bales.
There are also 3 race track people that should be included but are not mentioned on the box.
There are three variations of this box that are all available from RecoverToy. This is the second of the 3 box styles issued between 1971 and 1972.
This is the outer box with window face only. The inner foam tray is available separately.
