This is a Matchbox Lesney D style reproduction box for the Bluebird Dauphine Caravan. Generally found as a metallic tan colour there are two rare variations. The first issue was a metallic green corresponding the paint of the earlier issue Berkeley Cavalier Caravan that was dropped from the range in 1960. The second is the last issue of the model and it has a maroon base plate. This caravan made way for the Trailer Caravan in 1965. This box is from an original from my collection and depicts a gold coloured model similar to the metallic tan.

This is a Matchbox Lesney D style reproduction box for the Bluebird Dauphine Caravan. Generally found as a metallic tan colour there are two rare variations. The first issue was a metallic green corresponding the paint of the earlier issue Berkeley Cavalier Caravan that was dropped from the range in 1960. The second is the last issue of the model and it has a maroon base plate. This caravan made way for the Trailer Caravan in 1965. This box depicts a pinkish coloured model which I think is a colour variation in printing.

The Trailer Caravan model 23 was the 4th caravan in the series and the last in regular wheels. The model was issued in yellow and later pink body with a white roof. This 23d1 issue box features a blue caravan which was never an issued colour. This is the earliest of the boxes with a plain blue and white end flap. The later issues featured pictures on the end flaps. The pink caravan are generally in the later E style or an F style box. This model did not transition to Superfast.

The Matchbox Lesney Trailer Caravan model 23 was the 4th caravan in the series and the last in regular wheels.
The model was issued in yellow and later pink body with a white roof. This 23d3 issue box features a yellow caravan and is a custom colour issue of the box with picture on the end flap.
The earlier issues that suit the yellow caravan had plain text end flaps and a blue coloured caravan even though the model was yellow – probably because the proto-type was blue and the ‘yellow on yellow’ was not easy to print.
The pink caravans are generally in the later E style or an F style box. This model did not transition to Superfast.
